Why Dotte?
The term "Dotte" is short for Wyandotte County, Kansas. Tom grew up in Wyandotte and learned much of his cooking skills while living there. He has fond memories of neighborhood friends and local hang outs. Although his wife dragged him out of the "Dotte" a few years ago, his loyalties will always lie there.

Who We Are...
Tom Simpson is the owner, cook and brain child behind Dotte Brothers Barbecue. Growing up in Wyandotte County, Kansas, Tom saw how food brought people together. As a preteen, he started playing with different sauces and came up with his own recipes he tested on friends. He tried many different jobs, all the while cooking as a hobby. He trained in the kitchen and bar at Houlihan's restaurant on the Plaza. There he learned many facets of food preparation and presentation. His desire to cook for others on a larger level started at Arrowhead Stadium. A loyal Chief's fan and season ticket holder, Tom and his family attend every home game. Tailgating is where Tom has been able to extend his menu and create his barbecue sauces. Seeing the enjoyment other people get from his creations helped propel him into starting this business.
Stephanie Simpson is the baker and paper pusher behind Dotte Brothers Barbecue. After earning a business degree and working at serveral corporate companies; Stephanie is bringing her human resources and accounting expertise to Dotte Brothers. Her skills lie more behind the desk than behind the stove. This makes Tom and Stephanie's working partnership very compatible. There are only toes stepped on when Stephanie is baking a cake or cookies in the kitchen.
